Addis Ababa- Axum. After transfer to hotel, visit Axum`s St.Mary
of Zion church where the original ark of the covenant is believed
to be kept, Stele of Axum measuring 23m.high(erected one) and 33m.high
(fallen one) and the tomb of 3rd century AD king. After lunch break,
have a visit to the Bath and Place of Queen Sheba, the tomb of Kaleb
and his son (6th century AD kings) and the inscription of king Ezana
(4th century AD). O/n Yeha

2-Fly
Axum- Lalibela. After transfer to hotel, visit the 1st group of
world-renowned rock-hewn churches of Lalibela. O/n Roha.

3- after
breakfast head for admiring the remaining 2nd group of rock-hewn
churches. After lunch break, again finish the remaining 3rd group
and the Cave church of Nakutola`ab. O/n Roha

4- Fly
Lalibela- Gondar. After transfer to hotel visit the Castle complex
of King Fasilades and his bathing Castle. After lunch, head to the
colorfully decorated church of Debre Brehan Selasse, Kusquam church
with the Castle of Empress Mentwab and the house, which James Bruce
(the founder of the source of Blue Nile) is believed to live, and
Felasha village where Ethiopian Israelites live. O/n Goha

5- Fly
Gondar- Bahir Dar. After lunch break head to the ancient and colorful
monasteries of Lake Tana (the biggest lake in the country and source
of Blue Nile River). O/n. Tana

6- In
the morning head to the fascinating Blue- Nile (Tis-issat) falls
to admire natural beauty. After lunch head to the market place of
Bahir Dar and the former Emperor Hayleselasse Palace for a nice
view of the city. O/n Tana

7- Fly
Bahir Dar- Addis. After lunch in Addis, have a drive city tour of
Addis just for the look of the city. O/n Addis.

8- Fly Addis- Dire Dawa. Up on arrival drive to the walled and historic
city of Harar. On the way visiting the colorful market place of
Dire Dawa, the Chat (mildly stimulant plant) market of Aweday and
the Alemaya Lake. In the nighttime head to the Hyena man to see
the terrifying feeding process. O/n Ras or Belayneh Hotel

9 Full
day site seeing of the walled city of Harar (the 4th Islamic center
in the world) namely, the traditional Harari Museum, the famous
poet, Arthur Rimbaud`s former house, the grand Jami mosque, the
Ras Teferi`s (the last king of Ethiopia, Haylesilasse) former
house, the colorful Christian and Muslim Markets. O/n Belayneh

10 In the morning head to the village of Kombolcha to admire the Cave
paintings and then to the Babille Elephant sanctuary. Have a return
drive to Harar for O/n stay.

11 Back
to Dire Dawa for a flight to Addis.

12 City
tour of Addis. To the National museum, Trinity Cathedral, Ethnographic
museum, Entoto museum and the 1st Palace of Emperor Menilik (founder
of Addis), Merkato (the Biggest open-air market in Africa), minilik`s
Mausoleum. Culminating the tour, check-in to the Airport, for
a flight back home |
