Ethiopia is a country situated in the North Eastern part of Africa with a population of 74 million. Ethiopia stands unique among African countries for maintaining its independence from colonialists. With a total area of 1,127,127 sq. km, it is slightly less than twice the size of Texas or as large as France and Spain combined. The country is old beyond imagination, dating back to the very beginning of mankind.

It is the land of signs of the first humans, and it is the land of Queen of Sheba,a palace of legendary rulers, fabulous kingdoms and ancient mysteries. With more than 80 languages and 200 dialects, each ethnic group preserves its own unique customs and traditional values. You will find all kinds of religions of the world in Ethiopia, the best example to see how people of different religion live together. Ethiopia is a land of contrast, from the topic of the rugged “Simien Mountains” (4620m above sea level) to the depth of the “Denakil Depression”, which is 120m below sea level, one of the lowest dry and inhospitably hottest points on earth. Heading to the Northern part of the country, Axum, that was the center of civilization and the first to accept Christianity as a stat religion in sub-Saharan Africa and most European countries. Axum has got 3,000 years of history. The oldest church in Africa south of the Saharan is St. Mary of Zion Church first built in 4th century AD.

Ethiopia is a country of endless cultural and geographical diversity from the country’s natural attraction to its most colorful customs and ceremonies.
